United Technology Group (UTG) is a managed services provider in Duluth. Our primary goal is to allow
our clients to focus on their business while we manage their technology and supply strategic support
services.
We are seeking a Sales Development Representative to develop and nurture a database of leads and
set qualified appointments for our outside sales team. This role will target C-level executives, owners
and VP/Director level management.
As a Sales Development Representative, you’ll:

  • Be Innovative and Goal Driven! Develop lead generation strategies utilizing email, telephone, local networking and social media to create a strong prospective pipeline and to achieve 100% of goal for setting qualified appointments for the outside sales team.
  • Be Entrepreneurial! Think like a business owner to quickly engage and build rapport with C-level buyers.
  • Be Engaging! Use your strong communication and effective listening skills to spend your days engaging with people through outbound telephone and written prospecting and online chat inquiries via our website.
  • Be Strategic and Systematic! Look for ways to plan daily activities to reach the most potential customers each day. Use UTG’s proven process of BANT to qualify leads and set qualified appointments.
  • Be Part of a Successful Team! A professional outside sales team will further develop the relationships you’ve initiated to grow the business. You’ll be supported by a committed leadership with the tools you need to succeed.

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications or psychology
  • 1-2 years outbound business-to-business cold calling and appointment setting experience desired. Comparable skill set or previous telemarketing experience will also be considered.
  • 3 -5 years’ experience working in a business setting preferred.
  • To have professional, consultative B2B sales skills to gain access to C-level buyers supported by exceptional communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to introduce value by helping clients envision how UTG services can save them time and money by allowing them to focus on their business, not the technology that runs it.
  • Ability to research company information and develop strategies for generating leads.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and web products.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com or a CRM system would be a plus.
  • Ability to make repeated calls.
  • Understanding of techniques to gain access to decision makers including strategies for navigating the organization and working with gatekeepers.
  • Tenacious and comfortable following an established call process.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Detail orientation.
